Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Course Duration

In India to be a commercial pilot, a candidate must have a minimum total of 200 hours of flying which includes

  1. 100 Hrs as Pilot in Command
  2. 50 Hrs Cross- country flying as a pilot in command
  3. 20 Hrs Instrument Flying
  4. 20 Hrs Simulator Training
  5. 10 Hrs in Night Flying

The duration of this course is 18 months to 2 years. The regulation body in India is the Director-General of Civil Aviation (Govt. of India).

Abroad to be a commercial pilot, a candidate must have a minimum total of 250 hours of training which can be completed in 6 months to 1 year depending on the country & flying training school you choose. Every country has its own regulatory body for Commercial pilot Licence(CPL) after having a license it can be converted to other countries also.
